Podstawowym faktem towarzyszącym przewoźnikowi kolejowemu w jego codziennej pracy jest to, iż tabor kolejowy oraz pracownicy znajdują się w ciągłym ruchu.
Choć ruch ten jest z góry zaplanowany i przewidywalny, to jednak nigdy nie wiadomo, kiedy, w jakich okolicznościach oraz w jakim miejscu dojdzie do zdarzenia, które zakłóci tok normalnej pracy lub też wyrządzi szkody materialne.
Kluczowe znaczenie w ocenie przyczyn zdarzenia oraz jego przebiegu ma materiał dowodowy, w szczególności zarejestrowany obraz szlaku przed pojazdem trakcyjnym.
Fakt wystąpienia zdarzenia rodzi w takim przypadku potrzebę dostępu do zarejestrowanego materiału filmowego – pobrania go z dysku zamontowanego w rejestratorze na lokomotywie i zabezpieczenia oraz wszelkich dostępnych materiałów głosowych.
VoD Rail 3.0 is an innovative central system integrated with video recording devices on rail vehicles enabling remote access to video materials, self-diagnostics, live feed preview and last-day analytics supporting investigation processes.
The basic fact accompanying every railway carrier in his daily work is that the rolling stock and employees are in constant motion. Although this movement is planned and predictable in advance, it is never known when, in what circumstances and in what place an event will occur which disrupts the course of normal work or causes material damage.
Evidence, in particular the recorded image of the trail in front a rail vehicle, is of key importance in assessing the causes of the event and its course. In this case, the fact of the occurrence of the event raises the need for access to the recorded film material - downloading it from the disk mounted in the recorder on the locomotive.
Automatic archiving
VOD Rail 3.0 meets all the recommendations of the Office of Rail Transport. The system enables automatic archiving of video material directly after the event, without the need of manual reporting to the police or prosecutor's office.
Artificial intelligence
Continuous monitoring of vehicles, the radio messages they broadcast along with the GPS position of the vehicles and video materials from cameras in the VoD Rail 3.0 analytics module allows for detailed description of "unfortunate coincidences" or data sets from many sources in specific units of synchronized time, which can ultimately lead to accidents.
Based on these analyzes, predictive algorithms can be developed for events that will be automatically detected by the VoD Rail 3.0 system.
In case of automatic detection of such an event, the system may perform specific actions, e.g. trigger a specific alarm, provide a specific message to avoid an accident.

The system fully meets the recommendations of the President of the Office of Rail Transport expressed in letter No. DMB-WMIC.47.57.2018.2.KP of August 08, 2018, regarding the collection and archiving of all video recordings documenting a railway event.
The VoD 3.0 system is fully compliant with all the recommendations of the Office of Rail Transport regarding safety and proper security of CCTV monitoring recordings.
